Sandra Rana from the Islamic Society called to request Peace House supporters' participation in a PEACEFUL rally.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 4

Positive peaceful messages and behavior only. The rally is to call for a ceasefire by all sides in the conflict in Lebanon.
I plan to be there.
Thanks,

Oh, aaaaaaaaawright. I'll leave my pot belly pet pig at home. Dang it.
I am a devout Buddhist Jew.
Rev. Mary McAnally and I were perhaps the only, non-Muslim folks there, other than a handful of Christians of Lebanese descent. We were warmly welcomed by all. I was amazed at the positive response the rally received from the passing public and especially amazed at the lack of negative response. It is not everyday that a busy Tulsa interesection is lined by dozens of Muslim familes from toddlers to elders. The only visible media: Fox 23. I counted 10 police cars in discreet locations and another couple very visibly near the crowd. Most of the signage was simply pro-peace and pro-cease fire but a few I saw strongly condemned Israel, proving you can't always carefully control the message when calling for mass rallies.
The temperature on the bank sign across the street read 109 and that was confirmed by a man's pocket thermometer. I hope TPF rallyers will be careful in Saturday's expected extreme heat.
peace,
Valerie
ALL Chinese are by nature despotic aristocrats, which explains Beijing.
I give up.
Well. Paul Tay and Libertariandude--your dialogue is fascinating--even starting to become philosophical! Quoting the Tao! BUT when only two people do nearly all of the comment posting on this blog, I become concerned that others are being shut-out by the volume of "noise" that results. If we were meeting in person, I'd ask both of you to make room in the discussion for other voices--and for silence. Since Paul has a blog for discussing Peace House Tulsa: tulsapeacehouse.blogspot.com, I wonder if that may be a better forum for your dialogue.
Thank you for considering this.
Valerie
